Homeschool Field Trip: George Bush Library Outing

On a Friday, at end end of week 3 of our quarantine/shelter in place/stay at home situation, we had our first big outing. The rules allow you to go outside as long as you socially distance 6 feet away from others. A friend had taken her girls to the George Bush Library for an afternoon picnic recently and said there was nobody there. So, we did the same. We took a donut picnic about 11am on a Friday morning and spent over 2 hours walking around, blowing bubbles, the kids riding on each others backs, looking at flowers, doing a nature scavenger hunt, taking photos, looking at President George & First Lady Barbara Bush's graves, and just wearing ourselves out. It was the BEST day. We saw 4 other adults while we were there, but nobody else. I was so surprised. It was great weather and everyone behaved so nicely. It was just a great day! And I think Everly's favorite part was making wishes and pretending to throw coins into the fountain!
